The Black Keys
The Black Keys are a 2001 founded American blues-rock duo and multiple Grammy Award winner.
Biography
The Black Keys consist of the singer and guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney. The duo is from Akron, Ohio. The name comes from a friend of the band, the people who did not like him or of which he felt that we could not trust them, as " Black Keys " designated. A connotation of the name " Black Keys " is the English name for the black keys of the piano.
The Black Keys are often compared to the White Stripes, as they are a duo in a similar way, makes the lo-fi music and a short time before the Black Keys celebrated his breakthrough.
During the recordings will be omitted large recording technology. So far, large studios were shunned. Recording, production and mixing were taken over by the two musicians themselves. For example, their second album Thickfreakness was recorded 388 8-track recorder from the 1980s within 14 hours in Carney's basement of house on a Tascam. A third Grammy they won with the song Tighten Up for Best Rock Performance by a group singing. Overall, they were nominated five times.
On its website announced The Black Keys on October 11, 2011, the release of their new album El Camino. It was published on 6 December 2011. The first single is Lonely Boy. The album immediately rose to number 2. The Black Keys have made a breakthrough and their show at Madison Square Garden in New York City was sold out within 15 minutes.
In early 2012 the band gave known that they wanted to get down to work on a new album in February of the same year. This should be recorded for completion by the end of March. However, Auerbach and Carney wanted to take time off during the summer after a long tour. Therefore, the new album will be released in autumn 2013 at the earliest.

- Girl Is on My Mind is used by Sony Ericsson in a commercial with the tennis players Ana Ivanović and Daniela Hantuchová to apply a cell phone. The title can also be heard in the movie Cash Back when underpainting of a striptease.

- I'll Be Your Man from the album The Big Come Up is the theme song of the television series Hung - Lengths better.
- I got mine from the album Attack & Release comes in the movie The A-Team - The movie (as the A-Team is preparing for a deployment to Iraq ).
- Tighten Up is one of the soundtracks of the football game FIFA 11 Furthermore, the song is also represented at the beginning of the film Spring Breakers.
