Tom is a concert is an American animated short film directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera in 1946.

Action

Tom cat is a piano concert in tails and with distinguished mien. He begins to play the Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 by Franz Liszt. On the piano hammers, meanwhile, sleeps unnoticed Jerry the mouse, which is now being rudely awakened. She immediately tried to sabotage Tom's game. Jerry operates the hammers themselves, Toms pinched fingers, steals keys and placed in its place a mousetrap and turns Tom's piano stool up and down. Tom, however, manages to always keep playing the piece.

At the end of Jerry fails with two hammers on the strings and forcing Tom to play the difficult final three times. Completely exhausted decreases Tom at the end on the keyboard. Jerry accepts the applause of the audience in tails and with cylinder.

Production

Tom was a concert on 26 April 1947 as part of the MGM cartoon series Tom and Jerry in the cinemas.

It came to the controversy when Warner Bros. with Rhapsody Rabbit brought out an almost identical animation to the character Bugs Bunny in the same year. Both production companies accused the right to have plagiarized the each other, but could neither be proven one nor the other.
