The Clientele

The Clientele are a British indie rock band.

Alasdair MacLean and James Hornsey grew up in Hampshire. As fans of Galaxie 500 and Felt, they began to make music together. Then founded The Clientele with MacLean as a singer and guitarist, bassist Hornsey, Innes Phillips as an additional singer and guitarist who left the band soon, and a drummer who was replaced by Mark Keen 1999. Their first release was the song We Could Walk Together on a sampler of Fierce Panda Records. After several singles and EPs, they released in 2000 with Suburban Light her first album as a compilation of songs from the previous work.

In 2001 the band signed with the American indie label Merge Records. There, they released the albums The Violet Hour in 2003 and Strange Geometry 2005. Keyboardist and percussionist It was encountered by the Mel Draisey to the band and it created the album God Save The Clientele (2007) and Bonfires on the Heath ( 2009).
