The Daleks ' Master Plan ( / en dɑ ː leks mɑ ː sterplæn /; German to roughly the master plan of the Daleks ) is an episode of the British science fiction television series Doctor Who. It consists of a total of 12 parts ( the prequel Mission To The Unknown not counted) that were broadcast between 13 November 1965 to 29 January 1966. Thus, it is to date the longest Doctor Who episode when, as four individual episodes is one of the 23 season of the series, The Trial Of A Time Lord. Currently there are only episodes 2, 5 and 10 in possession of the BBC, the other 9 are considered lost.

Action

In the year 4000 the Daleks plan to conquer the solar system. They use weapons that are even able to destroy time itself. Only the Doctor and his companions can manage to prevent an intergalactic catastrophe: but no one can guarantee that they will come out alive from the thing.

The surviving Episodes 2, 5 and 10 were published along with several other orphan Episodes on the DVD Boxset Lost In Time. Furthermore, there is the entire episode as an audio book, with the prequel and a narrative commentary by Peter Purves, representing the Companion Steven in the sequence, and in book form by John Peel.

Unofficial publications

Several major reconstruction teams, including Loose Cannon and the Master Plan Productions, the episode have reconstructed in various ways and so brought to life again.
