The Devil Came on Horseback

The Death Rider of Darfur (USA 2007) by Ricki Stern and Anne Sundberg is the German title of the American documentary The Devil Came On Horseback. The film informs about the still ongoing Darfur conflict in Sudan. It is based on the book by former U.S. Marine Captain Brian Steidle, and his experiences as an unarmed military observer for the African Union in Darfur. The film premiere was mid-2007. The documentary is a Break Thru Films production in association with Global Grassroots and Three Generations.

The theatrical release in Germany was on 28 August 2008.
