Action

Grégoire is a loving family man, but failed career as a film producer. Too many projects running in parallel, the films are not very profitable, and the production of the eccentric filmmaker Stig Janson in Sweden consumes more money than planned - the financial resources have been exhausted. When the debts get out of hand, Grégoire sees no other way than to take his own life. His wife, Sylvia, and three daughters Clemence, Valentine and Billie remain fassunglos.

After the widow has wound the first mourning pain, she became head of the production company, Moon Films into their own hands. Because she knows how much Grégoire meant the current productions, she tries to find ways out of the crisis. Her oldest daughter Clémence learns meanwhile that her father has an illegitimate son, whom he hid from his children. Despite Sylvia's great work, it can no longer avert insolvency. She hands over the office of the bankruptcy trustee. Sylvia finally considered France to turn his back and walk in their native Italy, even though their children in Paris, and thus want to stay at her father's grave. In order to gain some distance, the family initially traveling for two weeks.

The filmmaker Mia Hansen - Løve was inspired by the suicide of producer Humbert Balsan film († 2005) about this movie. His wife also worked after the death of her husband in his office of the company Ognon Pictures.
