The Foundations

The Foundations [ faʊndeɪʃənz ] were a soul band. It was founded in January 1967 in London. The cast was international: Dale came from Dominica, Burke and Elliott were both Jamaicans, Gomez came from Sri Lanka, Curtis from Trinidad, Warner, Macbeth and Harris were born three Englishmen.

In the autumn of 1967, the Single Baby Now That I've Found You became a bestseller. The follow-up single Back on My Feet Again managed to at least 1968 in the Top 20 debut album From The Foundations, however, did not sell well. The next single, Any Old Time You're Lonely and Sad came into the top 30 and the successor to Build Me Up Buttercup, written by Mike d'Abo was the million seller. Curtis soon retired from it, for it was Colin Young from Barbados. The single In the Bad Bad Old Days then managed the beginning of 1969 once again in the Top 10, My Little Chickadee and Born to Live and Born to Die were only represented at limited places on the charts. 1970, dissolved the Foundations.
