The G-Clefs

The G -Clefs were an American R & B singing group.

The quintet, consisting of the brothers Teddy, Chris, Timmy and Scott Arnold and Ray Gibson, began in the early 1950s in Roxbury, Massachusetts, first with Gospel.

In 1956, the group got a record deal and became the first song "Ka - Ding Dong " (U.S. # 24 ) on, in which a young guitarist named Freddy Cannon made ​​his debut. This was to become famous later on with songs like " Tallahassee Lassie" or " Palisade Park " as a singer.

Then the G -Clefs toured the States before they settled in Boston. It was not until 1961, she then went back into the studio and recorded the song " I Understand ", which their first and only Top Ten success (U.S. No. 9, UK number 17 ) was. Then the group split.
