The Grease Band

The Grease Band ( engl. the grease - band ) was a British rock band, 1966 by Joe Cocker (vocals) and Chris Stainton (bass, keyboards) was founded in Sheffield.

As a companion volume of Cocker she was with his first hit single in 1968 Marjorine it, which was surprising a Top 50 hit in the UK. The next single, a cover version of the Beatles song With A Little Help From My Friends, shot and got to number 1 on the charts. It was theirs and 1969 the appearance at the Woodstock Festival, who introduced the group and its singer in the United States. In 1970, Cocker left the band to pursue his career alone. The Grease Band then played a private album but broke up after 1971. 1975, there was a brief reunion, which spawned a second album before the final release was made.
