The Great Santini (AKA The Great Santini ) is an American melodrama from 1979 with Robert Duvall and Blythe Danner in the lead roles.

Action

In the center of the story is the family of professional soldiers Lieutenant Colonel Wilbur " Bull" Meechum, which is also called " The Great Santini ". The family also includes his wife Lilian and her four children. Because Bull Meechums professional activities the family is often forced to move to another city, which leads to conflict. To make matters worse, that the passionate fighter pilot with his life is increasingly unhappy, which carries over to the family situation. In particular, between the father and his eldest son Ben, the situation becomes critical.
