The Hondells

The Hondells were put together by a producer Gary Usher, American Studio Group. It was not a band with a fixed occupation, but rather a product of the ever-changing art studio musicians who came from Los Angeles. The majority of the early songs were composed by Usher and Roger Christian. Both Usher and Christian were at this time co-authors of Beach Boy Brian Wilson.

As the first piece of the Hondells took 1964 Little Honda, had written Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys. The musical style of Hondells was not significantly different from that of the Beach Boys. Thematically, I turned on the Hondells everything that had to do with motorcycles, cars, hot rods and race. The first album by the band Go Little Honda from 1964 contained titles such as A Guy Without Wheels, Hot Rod High, Death Valley Run, Haulin 'Honda or Black Boots and Bikes. In 1965, the Hondells took on the advertising song You Meet the Nicest People on a Honda for the Japanese company Honda, and thus supported their successful advertising campaign.

Gary Usher produced according to this principle, a whole series of "sham groups " like The Kickstands, The Knights, The Four Speeds, The Sunsets, The Competitors and others. He was one of the driving forces behind the Southern California hot rod and surf music.
