The Incal

John Difool is the main character and also the title of a comic book series of the Chilean filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky and French comic artist Moebius (Jean Giraud ). The cycle John Difool before Incal (Volumes 7-12 ) were not drawn by Moebius, but the Serb Zoran Janjetov.

John Difool is a private class R and residents of Terra 21 The gigantic shaft City (French Cité Puits, an arcology ) is divided into levels. The upper regions are inhabited by the Aristos ( socially privileged ), while the mass blunts before TVs. The deep levels of the "red ring " accommodate the entertainment district. The acid lake finally decomposed at the lowest level the garbage of the city as well as the body of the numerous suicides who jump into this lake. John Difool gets - apparently by accident - from a dying mutants in the catacombs of the city over to the Incal, a mysterious small object in the form of a bright white pyramid, which gives it great power. Because of this Incals John is chased by various, not known him powers, such as the techno - technicians, the President of the planets ( which while in chaos and rebellion sinks ) and the revolution troops amok with their leaders, he joins forces later. He finds a black Incal, which completes the first. He goes now reluctantly on an adventure across the galaxy.

Publication

The actual Incal cycle appeared 1981-1988 in Les associés Humanoïdes with drawings of Moebius and coloring of Yves Chaland.

Following the series John Difool appeared before the Incal (Avant L' Incal ), which was drawn by Zoran Janjetov. In addition, there is the band After the Incal with drawings of Moebius and a two-volume final (Final Incal ) by José Ladrönn, which appeared in German in March 2009.
