The Journal of Neuroscience

The Journal of Neuroscience is a scientific magazine, which deals with all areas of neurobiology. The magazine is divided into the following sections:

  • Cellular / Molecular
  • Development / Plasticity / Repair Mechanisms
  • Behavior / system / cognition
  • Neurobiology of disease

Prior to the publication of each article are subject to scientific studies, a so-called peer review, which means that the individual items of an assessment by other experts who act as independent experts subject before they are published. The journal is published by the Society for Neuroscience weekly. The magazine was first, then once a month, published in 1981.

The journal had an impact factor as a measure of the average number of citations per published article, from 6,908 in the Journal Citation Report 2012 in 2013, which it is measured at 22 out of 252 on the Impact Factor among the neuroscience journals.
