The Jungle Book ( The Jungle Book ) is the title of a 78 -part Indian- British animated television series based on the story collection The Jungle Book.

After Akela is the new leader of the wolf pack, Mowgli is excluded from the pack. Together with his friends Baloo and Bagira he is experiencing exciting adventures in the jungle and hopes one day to be accepted as a real wolf in the pack. He meets new friends, such as a porcupine, but also some less friendly -minded contemporaries, such as the tiger Shir Kahn, the jackal Tabaqui and the snake Kaa. Together, the three help animals in need and thwart the evil machinations of Shir Kahn and Tabaqui.
Main characters:
Mowgli: Mowgli has almost every day lessons with his teacher Balu. When he is has no classes, he plays with his friends, the other animals in the jungle.
Balu Balu is a sloth and the good-natured teacher Mowgli. To his favorite foods include honey and watermelons. Although he is against many things that hires Mogli, but his little friend can not stay angry for long.
Bagheera: Bagheera is a panther and one of the best friends Mowgli. He is almost always in the lessons there and romps with the human boy how Mowgli is called by many animals, like through the jungle. If Shir Khan Mowgli attacks, the panther is his friend always on hand.
Shir Khan: The King Tiger is Mowgli's greatest enemy. He finds that the human boy does not belong in the jungle, so he tries by all means to kill Mowgli.
Tabaqui: Tabaqui is a devious and cunning jackal. He does everything his constant companion Shir Khan tells him. Mostly he failed much to the chagrin of the Tiger.
Kaa: The Python Kaa can sometimes be quite moody. Although it is neutral and has nothing for Shir Khan's attacks on Mowgli left, but often it helps the human boy.
Akela: Akela can proudly call the leader of the wolf pack in the jungle. He likes Mogli, but his stepson Phaona has nothing left for the boy Mowgli and tries to make again and again ridiculous Shir Khan.
Daruka: Daruka is an Indian wolf and Mowgli's father. Often visited the adoptive son himself and his family. His nose is one of the best in the jungle.

Chil: The Brahminy Kite is admired by the whole jungle. Chil is strong and powerful, and a friend of Mowgli.

Band of monkeys: These monkeys have nothing but nonsense in your head and make only what they like or fun. Lock Mowgli into a space in their abandoned temple complex a, riding on the elephant children Appu and Hita and argue with Tabaqui.

Production and publication
Author of the series is Rachel Murrell. For production from 2009 to 2011 in India, the company DQ Entertainment International Production and Moon Coop were responsible. Directors were Tapaas Chakravavarti and Siddharth Vasudeva. The theme song for the series, written by Guy Michelmore, sang Lisa Abbott. The series will be broadcast in high definition television in 16:9 format and Dolby Digital 5.1.
The first broadcast of the series took place from 18 October 2010 to TF1 in France. This was followed by broadcasts in Australia on ABC, in the UK on BBC and in Canada at TVO. In Germany the TV series for the first time on April 23, 2011, broadcast each with 26 episodes on ZDF on Saturday and in KiKA weekdays from April 26, 2011 at the German television in two seasons. For the 2011 series 3 DVD ( Length: 55 minutes) are published in the year. The first 26 episodes have also been published as a radio play.
