The Kingsmen

The Kingsmen was an American rock band.

The group was founded in 1957 as a school band and played until 1963 mainly at dance events, fashion shows and exhibitions. Over the years, the Kingsmen developed one for that time and bluesy hard rock music.

The end of 1962 they became the house band of The Chase, the most famous teenage pub of Portland, Oregon. One evening took the manager of the pub to a performance by the quintet recording on tape and sold it to a record company. The company published it, " Louie, Louie " as a single. The song became a hit and million-seller.
