The Lodger (Band)

The Lodger (English for The Goodbye Girl ) is an English indie pop band from Leeds.

Band History

The Lodger was born when Ben Siddall in Leeds demos recorded on his PC and it played to interested listeners. Soon made ​​home-burned CDs in the music scene of the Leeds round. Finally, the label Dance to the Radio newly founded became aware of the music project and offered to produce a single. For upcoming live performances Ben Siddall could quickly Lisa Harker and Bruce Renshaw win, from which soon resulted in a permanent grouping. Unsatisfied with the beginning of 2005 the first compilation contribution and Many Thanks For Your Honest Opinion, the first single of the band. More releases followed in the same year. End of 2005, Lisa Harker and Bruce Renshaw left the band and were replaced by Katie James and Joe Margetts.

2006 brought London indie label Angular Records, the first single from The Lodger with the new line out. Let Her Go won the BBC competition 6music Rebel's playlist. In September 2006 the band members went into the studio to record their debut album. The end of 2006 was followed by a headlining tour of the UK and Germany, on the new songs were presented. Grown -ups finally released in 2007 and received good reviews. 2007 went with The Lodger The Long Blondes on UK tour, came in the spring to Germany and toured in the fall by the United States. More Releases of 2007, Kicking Sand / Centuries and Let's Make A Pact.

2008 The Lodger moved from Angular Bad Sneakers Records, and brought in May 2008, the second studio album Life Is Sweet out at the back Bruce Renshaw sat on drums. As a single The Good Old Days was disengaged. In Germany, the releases of the band are sold with Noise Deluxe Records, Slumberland Records in the USA, in Japan and in Australia at Fabtone Speak'n ' Spell. In summer, the band came on her promotional tour to Germany.
