The Maine (band)
The Maine is a company incorporated in 2007, American rock band from Phoenix, Arizona.
Band History
In the founding years of the band in January 2007, some of the band members went together to the same high school in Phoenix, Arizona. Drummer Pat Kirch and bassist Garrett Nickelsen wanted by changing countless garage bands finally found his own band, which corresponded to their ideas. In the same interests, they met while on singer John O'Callaghan and guitarist Kennedy Brock and second vote. In the spring of 2007 they recorded their first self-produced EPs called Stay Up, Get Down, this appeared the following summer of 2007.
Due to their enormous online presence on platforms like MySpace and Buzznet, a major label was aware of them pretty quickly. At their first concert the band played in front of over 600 fans, among whom was also an agent of the record company Fearless Records. Along with their new second guitarist Jared Monaco, she signed a recording contract in late October 2007.
On 11 December 2007 they released their second EP The Way We Talk with Fearless Records. In the U.S. Billboard Top Independent Albums chart, it debuted at number 10. In 2008 she toured extensively through the United States. They played will be played and the Soundtrack Of Your Summer Tour, among others at the Warped Tour; in the latter, along with Good Charlotte, Boys Like Girls and Metro Station.
Their first LP called Can not Stop, Will not Stop was released on 8 July 2008, it was produced by Matt Squire. With 12,000 copies sold in its first week, the album debuted at number four on the U.S. Billboard Top Independent Albums chart and at number 40 on the Billboard Top 200.
In December 2008, their Christmas EP " ... And a Happy New Year", which is also a cover of the Wham! Appeared - The song " Last Christmas" contained. In addition, released in July 2009, the deluxe edition of the first studio album " Can not Stop, Will not Stop", including a band's documentary entitled " In Person ".
In July 2010 appeared after premature release of the singles "Inside Of You " and " Growing Up " their second studio album "Black & White", which stylistically quite different from the previous editions. So they combined vintage rock with modern indie influences and thus distanced themselves from pure commercial pop - punk.
