The Nanny Diaries is an American film drama by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini from the year 2007. Starring Scarlett Johansson is seen as Annie Braddock.
The film is based on the novel by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus from the year 2003.
Action
Annie Braddock is a young woman from New Jersey, which comes after her degree in anthropology in the job search into an identity crisis because they do not seem to know who she really is. By chance she meets in Central Park on Mrs. X, a young mother from the New York upper class, which keeps them on the basis of their name Annie for a Nanny and promptly offered her a job, which she also takes after a short reflection.
Noted early on the day of their feeder in the classy apartment in the Upper East Side neighborhood Annie that their new work will be very different from what she has imagined. First, she learns that her predecessor was dismissed on the basis of a single dates, then she gets a room in the apartment, which is more like a broom closet, and to top it all seems the son Grayer to hate her because he still at his old nanny depends.
In the hallway Annie learns after a short time Hayden, the attractive neighbor of the X family, know that is however initially described as Harvard Hottie. During the first weeks succeeds Annie to get her relationship with Grayer in the handle, and the little boy she closes as surrogate mother in his heart, as his real mother is self-centered and has no real relationship with her son. On 31 August 2007, the film was shown at the International Film Festival of Venice. The movie launch took place in Switzerland on 11 June 2008, in Germany on 14 August 2008 and in Austria. During the opening weekend, he played on 24 October 2008 in the United States nearly 7.5 million U.S. dollars. Overall the income in the United States amounted to about 25.9 million U.S. dollars.
The film contains multiple allusions to the British film Mary Poppins with Julie Andrews, including the red shield, the word " Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious " and an excerpt from the film music.
