The Neverhood is a computer game which was established in 1996 by Doug TenNapel and released by Dreamworks Interactive. The entire game world is made of three tons of clay. As with the production of an animated film with plasticine had to be individually photographed and put together for animations all images.

Due to the Music of Terry Scott Taylor, the original animations and characters and quirky humor the game still has a relatively large following, even though it was out of print for years. As before, there are many active designed by fans " fan sites ", the soundtrack sold well.

Experienced adventure gamers criticize The Neverhood often that the puzzles are disproportionate to the offense and consist merely of unoriginal logical puzzles (eg sliding puzzles ). Fans of the game holding contrary to that atmosphere and loving preparation of the game world is the most important part of the game and the puzzles are rather trivial. So there is a 38- room screens on which the complete background of the Neverhood is written down. In the main menu of the game you can look at various production processes with original comments from the developers.

A successor named Skull Monkeys was published in 1998 for the Sony Playstation.
