The Notorious IBE

History

1998

In 1998, the IBE was hosted by the founders Marcel Haug and Tyrone van der Meer for the first time in Nighttown in Rotterdam. Besides live graffiti and Rapauftritten were the Battles in the foreground between many then-known breakdancing crews like Battle Squad, Flying Steps, South Side Rockers, Second to None, Crazy Force Crew, Crazy Force Belgium and Ykanji

1999

This IBE has become particularly known by the competition between Salah and Bionic Man.

2000

Due to lack of financial support no IBE took place this year.

2001

Newly introduced in the schedule this year were the Toprockbattle, the Footwork Battle, the Power Move Battle and the Battle of the Year Benelux. Also new was the All battles all ( FFA ), which Killabeez, StarForce, Connexion and Super Crew faced each other along with Wanted.

2002

For the second time the Battle of the Year Benelux was aligned in this IBE. In addition, the new battle system Seven2smoke was recorded for the first time in the program from the IBE.

2003

In the fifth IBE to other innovations established. This time no individual breakdancing crews were invited, but Allstar teams from Germany, France and the United States. The Battle of the Year Benelux was taken after this IBE from the program. New in our program has been the stand-up dance battle and the competition The longest BBoy move.

2004

The event was renamed by the IBE in The Notorious IBE. The all- battles -all principle with three Allstar crews remained. Once experimented with the Battle variants freaks come out at night and Blind Date Battle, but these were not included in the program of the following IBEs.

2005

The now firmly integrated, all battles all been extended to a fourth Allstar crew from South Korea. Special attention was the Battle between teams from the U.S. and South Korea. The fight had to be stopped, however, after both teams got into a tangibility.

2006-2007

In these two years, the IBE had to be canceled due to financial and organizational reasons.

2008

This time, the IBE was moved to Heerlen. The All- battles -All teams were this time from Korea / Japan, USA, Europe and Russia / Ukraine.
