The Opposites
The Opposites is a rap duo founded in 2004 in Amsterdam in the Netherlands, consisting of Willem de Bruin and Twan van Steen Hoven.
History
The two rappers began in 2003 with the rap, as Willem de Bruin had to write as punishment in schools in a rap. He discovered his talent for it and decided to focus on. By his own account he was doing literally addicted to rap. The name of the group ( German: "opposites " ) resulted from the very different appearance of the two musicians.
As of 2004, published first songs, mostly on compilations with other rappers such as Yes -R, Brace, Brutus and B. Baas, 2005, the first own album Youngsters appeared with English lyrics. Then they rapped only in their native language Dutch. They changed the record label TopNotch and their second album De Fik He appeared in late 2005. Slaap The single from the album was released in 2006 and became the first hit of the band and make it to fourth in the Dutch Top100 charts.
The Current Single Slapeloze nachten has come in the Dutch charts at # 1.
The Opposites were awarded several prizes, including the Edison Music Award, several TMF awards and 3FM Awards.
