Glentoran FC

The Oval is a football stadium in the Northern Ireland capital Belfast.

In the stadium Glentoran FC bears since 1892 from its home games. It's in the Dee Street, in East Belfast. During the Second World War, The Oval was bombed in 1941 and Gletoran had to dodge in the Grosvenor Park. After the stadium with the help of Cliftonville FC and Lisburn Distillery was rebuilt, it was reopened in August 1949. By 1953, the current stands were built.

According to current regulations and protective measures fit 15,000 spectators in the stadium. The record of 55,000 was set in a European Cup match against Glasgow Rangers.

As new laws are scheduled to pull the stricter requirements of itself, considering the association, which in 2003 sold the land to build a new stadium.

Even the London cricket stadium is referred to as The Oval.
