The Player Channel

The Poker Channel is the first TV station's dedicated only to poker world. It was founded on 23 March 2005 in the UK.

Program content

The Poker Channel sends recordings and live broadcasts of major tournaments from around the world, as well as transfers of online tournaments that pit online players from all over the world before the TV audience against each other. Besides the tournaments, The Poker Channel broadcasts also shows that show the basic rules of poker and the different variations of the game. Moreover, known poker players are introduced.

Reception

The channel can be received in Scandinavia, France and Germany. In Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland, the transmitter is available via the satellite platform Canal Digital, in France NUMERICABLE. The Poker Channel has an archive of over 400 hours of recordings on the subject of poker. This makes it the largest archive of its kind in Europe (as of end of 2006).
