The Poppy Girls

The Poppy Girls are a British girl group that was put together in 2013 for the fundraising campaign on the occasion of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

History

The five girls Megan Adams, Florence Ransom, Alice Milburn, Bethany Davy and Charlotte Mello are students aged from ten to 17 years and daughters of soldiers of the Armed Forces. They were selected for an online casting from more than 1,000 applicants.

Together they recorded the song The Call ( No Need to Say Goodbye ) on the US- American singer Regina Spektor. On November 9, 2013, it went live on as part of the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall. The next day the title appeared as a single and reached number 13 on the British charts. All proceeds from the sale will go to the welfare of the Royal British Legion.
