Protectors - On Life and Death ( Original title: Livvagterne ) is an award -winning ten - or twenty -part Danish crime series whose episodes were first broadcast in Germany on ZDF.

Action

The plot revolves around bodyguards Copenhagen a special unit of the Danish intelligence service. The bodyguards are each assigned to protect a particularly vulnerable person from politics or the public interest and must ensure that the person in your care nothing happens. While it basically revolves around the solution of an exciting event in every episode, it's also about current trends in the Danish society, such as the treatment of religious minorities, women in a male community, such as the Special Operations Command, etc. The series belongs to the group of high quality and intricately twisted Scandinavian productions like Wallander or the Millennium trilogy by Stieg Larsson.

Format

A relay team consists of ten episodes with a length of 55 minutes each. For the Original ZDF added two episodes to together and cut these double episodes on each 101 to 109 minutes.

The individual cases were each broadcast on ZDF in the series Sunday Mystery Sundays by 22 clock. An average of over two million viewers, the German premieres.
