The Ray Bradbury Theater
Bradbury's Chamber of Horrors ( Original title: The Ray Bradbury Theater ) is an American- Canadian- British-French - New Zealand science fiction and fantasy television series. From 1985 to 1992 a total of 65 episodes were produced in six seasons, of which the first six episodes on HBO, the rest were broadcast on USA Network. The idea for the series came from the actor Larry Wilcox and his producer Mark Massari, both of which were also producers of the series, after they had proposed the project in 1984 Ray Bradbury. The locations were in England, Canada, New Zealand and France.
Content
All screenplays of this series are written by Ray Bradbury. He had been granted to executive produce complete artistic freedom. Bradbury therefore used for the screenplays either his original short stories as a template or combined elements of different own short stories together. Each episode begins with an intro, spoken by Bradbury himself:
People ask where do you get your ideas. Well right here. All this is my Martian landscape. Somewhere veldt in this room is an African. Just beyond is a small Illinois town Perhaps where I grew up And I'm surrounded on every side by my magicians toyshop. I'll never starve here. I just look around, find what I need, and begin. I'm Ray Bradbury, and this is " The Ray Bradbury Theater".
Broadcast
The series was broadcast in Canada and the USA from 1985. Three first German episodes in 1988 synchronized Trilogy of ARD under the title of Bradbury and broadcast early evening program. 1991 and 1992, 45 more episodes of Tele 5 were synchronized and broadcast Gruselkabinett under the new series title Bradbury's, where apparently the three episodes of ARD were resynchronized. As far as hitherto known, then no Neuausstrahlung took place until today (2012 ).
