The Reason is the second studio album by the American grunge band Hoobastank. It was included in the Turner Broadcasting Studios in Atlanta and appeared on 9 December 2003 in the sale of Iceland Records. In the U.S. alone more than 2.3 million copies were sold, making the album has twice reached gold status.

Production

The album was recorded from March to August 2003. Producer of the album was Howard Benson, who is also with bands like The Crystal Method, Cold and POD has worked. The photographs were placed on ice for a short time after, guitarist Dan Estrin had contracted in August in an accident serious injury.

Success

The album reached # 45 on the Billboard Hot 200 Same Direction, The Reason and Out Of Control were released as singles. The latter is included in the soundtrack of the racing game MX Unleashed and reached number 9 in the Modern Rock charts and # 16 of the mainstream rock charts of Billboard. The title song reached # 2 on the Billboard charts and # 10 in Australia. Same Direction can be heard in Madden NFL, Just One at Top Spin 2

In 2005, the album at the 47th Grammy Awards for three Grammys for Song of the Year, Best Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal and Best Rock album was nominated.
