The Reef - Swim for your life is an Australian thriller from 2010, it is to Blackwater, the second film by Andrew Traucki. . It is about a group of friends who sail off the Indonesian coast and are attacked after a shipwreck of a great white shark.
Action
Luke invites his friend Matt and his girlfriend Suzie to take a sailing trip to the coral reef. Also, Matt's sister Kate ( Luke's ex-girlfriend ) and the sailor Warren go on board. On the second day of travel, the yacht runs on a reef loses the keel and capsizes. It drives with badly damaged hull keel up.
Luke decides to swim to the nearest island Turtle Iceland. While the others are sitting on the hull of the ship, Warren activates the ELT, but Luke tells him that the transmitter is out of date and the distress signal can be captured only by aircraft, but they are located away from the flight routes. As Luke suggests that the other will swim with him for an estimated 12 miles distant island, Warren points out that there are sharks in the area. Kate, Suzie and Matt follow Luke into the water and swim to the island. Warren remains on the wreck.
You can find the torso of a Turtle, whose head was bitten off by a shark. From the hull of the yacht Warren discovered a great white shark, circling the ship. Shortly thereafter, the group of the swimmer is attacked by the shark. He swims toward them, but only touched Kate before it disappears. Kate and Suzie are in shock and are supported by Matt and Luke. Kate has lost its buoyancy aid. When Matt wants to get the Float, the shark attacks him and bites his leg off. The others try to help him, but he bled to death in minutes. After sunset, the darkness Luke, Kate and Suzie are again attacked by something unknown, but without consequences. Suzie throws Luke ago that he had persuaded them to leave the protective wreck.
In the morning, the group is driven into an area of the reef, where the water is so shallow that they can stand and rest. In the distance you can see a large rock formation and swim toward it. Suddenly a fin appears that the three first startled, then, however, than that of a dolphin turns out, what they laugh. As then reappearing a fin, it suggests again the dolphin, but suddenly appears and attacks a shark on it and kills Suzie. Luke and Kate arrive after a short break in shallow water, where they swear eternal love to the rock formation. Luke helps Kate on the rocks. Before he can follow her through Kate's help, the shark pulls him into the depths.
The epilogue written reports that Kate is rescued the following day by a fishing boat. The search for Warren and the wreck remains unsuccessful.
