The band was founded in Toronto, Canada. The two brothers Dallas and Travis Good, whose father and uncle play in the band The Good Brothers came early with music and touch, and learned their craft. Because of this link to the traditional music or country music, some traditional pieces can be found in their repertoire again. They played some time ago as a backing band of Neko Case (including on The Tigers Have Spoken heard). Travis was a member of The Good Brothers for a short time.

The first recordings were released on the Chicago label Bloodshot Records. The style of the Canadians moved in the alternative country - area, but is home to a variety of impacts, thus it can be difficult to squeeze in a drawer. He is frequently described as a vintage surf - punk - western roots music.

There are numerous collaborations with other artists such as Jon Langford and Andre Williams. In addition, they can be heard on numerous compilations from the house of Bloodshot Records.
