The Shondes

The Shondes are a band from New York City, USA.

Their musical style combines Jewish influences with radical political statements. The band is also known for appearances at charity concerts in the United States.

History

The band was formed in 2006, initially with guitarist Ian Brannigan. He was replaced in late 2008 by Fureigh. After two demo EPs The Shondes published with The Red Sea in 2008 their debut album and went on U.S. tour. 2010 their second album, My Dear One. A planned seven-week tour of Europe in the same year was canceled due to the cancer of the violinist Elijah Oberman. 2011 the third album Searchlights and the band went from 2011 until May 2012 U.S. tour.
