The Singles - The First Ten Years is a compilation of the Swedish pop group ABBA in 1982 The album contains all international singles of the group.. The Singles - The First Ten Years was the last official recordings in ABBA's career as an active music group.
Origin and Meaning
The concept for a collection of all the singles the group already existed in 1980, but it was not until 1982 used as a substitute for the planned ninth studio album. Which arose in the spring of 1982 songs Just Like That, I Am the City and You Owe Me One sat down opposite the style of the last studio album The Visitors clear as they were cheerful and all were sung jointly by Fältskog and Lyngstad.
Since the climate within the group was already tense and lacked the four members of motivation, they met in the fall of 1982, the last time in the studio to record three new songs. It originated Cassandra, Under Attack and The Day Before You Came. But these were only the two last released as a single and therefore included in the track list of The Singles. Meanwhile, the LP is a collector's item. The CD version is to find even more rare; both are out of print.
