The Soviet Story

The Soviet Story is a documentary from 2008 about the Soviet Communism and Soviet- German collaboration before 1941. Directed by Edvīns Snore, who also wrote the screenplay. The film was sponsored by the UEN Group in the European Parliament.

The film leaves Western and Russian historians such as Norman Davies to speak for themselves and Boris Sokolov, author Viktor Suvorov, Soviet dissident Vladimir Bukovsky, members of the European Parliament as well as perpetrators and victims of Soviet terror of the Stalin era.

The film argues that there was close philosophical, political and organizational connections between the Nazi and Soviet systems before and, during the early stages of World War II. He discusses the Great Purge, the Holodomor, the Molotov -Ribbentrop Pact, the Katyn massacre, Gestapo - NKVD collaboration, Soviet mass deportations and medical experiments in the camps of the Gulag.

In July 2011, a German -language version of the film was released by Kopp Verlag on DVD after three years had been no sales in German speaking Europe for this purpose. The German title is Soviet Story.
