The Toasters, founded in 1981 in New York, one of the world's best known and longest-serving ska bands.

Band History

The central figure of the toaster is the Englishman Robert Hingley. He had emigrated to the United States and formed the band in 1981. Thus it was one of the first groups of the third Skawelle and of particular importance for the development of the later ska in the U.S. and the emerging crossover styles such as ska-punk and Skacore.

Hingley also founded the label Moon Ska 1983, was to become the meantime significant Skalabel world. Beginning of the 21st century, the label disbanded. The band recorded most of their albums on there. Moon Ska Europe successors and Megalith Records.

In 1983, the band released their first single with Beat Up. Two years later, a demo EP ( " recriminations " ) in collaboration with the famous musician Joe Jackson, with whom she should work together more often.

Music style
