The Tolkien Ensemble

The Tolkien Ensemble is to create " first complete musical interpretation of the poems and songs from The Lord of the Rings the world," a Danish ensemble with the aim.

The ensemble was founded in 1995 by Caspar Reiff and has published from 1997 to 2006, four CDs and a collector in which all the poems and songs from The Lord of the Rings were musically. The collector includes all the songs of the previous CDs, but some pieces were re-recorded, and adjusted the order of the books. The project was supported by both the Tolkien Estate and the publisher HarperCollins. Queen Margrethe II of Denmark allowed the use of her illustrations in the CD layout.

The ensemble performs on a rotating cast. For the Germany tour 2009: Julie Lund, Sibeal Hill, Christine Nonbo, Katariina Roth, Øyvind Ougaard, Nick Keir & Caspar Reiff. Peter Hall will only occur at some concerts.
