The Triffids
The Triffids were an Australian indie rock band of the 1980s.
Band History
The band was founded in 1980 by his brother, singer and songwriter David McComb, Robert McComb (guitar) and drummer Alsy MacDonald in Perth (Australia). 1982 and 1983 completed the bassist Martyn Casey and keyboardist Jill Birt the band.
Can be described as melancholic and somber folk-pop music of the Triffids. Although a large proportion of Triffids songs were well equipped with catchy melodies and a certain pop appeal, the band was able to achieve any significant chart success. This did not change the re-release of five studio albums by Domino Records in 2006-2008 nothing. The Triffids remain to this day the great unknown band from Australia.
