The Twang

The Twang are a British indie rock band from Birmingham.

History

The band emerged in the early 2000s, when Phil Etheridge and Jon Watkin got together and played music together. Until 2004 it was the five-member group The Twang. This was followed by tours and appearances and in 2006 they performed at a show in the Bar Academy Birmingham. Even before their first release they received promising reviews and were set at Sound of 2007 by BBC behind Mika # 2 in the upcoming music talents.

It was followed in 2007 actually successful debut album Love It When I Feel Like This, which brought it to number 3 on the album charts and was certified gold. It also spawned the Top 10 hit Either Way. The Twang were then at the NME Awards 2007 the Philip Hall Radar Award.

Two years later, the album Jewellery Quarter, which fell well short, however, after the first successes appeared.
