The Twins (group)
The Twins are a German synth - pop band of the 1980s.
The group was founded in 1980 in West Berlin by Sven Dohrow (* 1957) and Ronny Schreinzer (* 1958). The two musicians are not related to each other, the name is to be understood in terms of " two-man company ". Musically, they went back to British bands like Gary Numan's Tubeway Army, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark and Depeche Mode.
An initial moderate success they had with their first single release The Desert Place, which became a hit in clubs in Germany and made it into the U.S. Billboard dance charts.
The big breakthrough back the Twins in Italy, where they three Top Ten hits landed within 18 months ( Face to Face - Heart to Heart in 1983 to fifth place, Not the Loving Kind ninth place and a year later Ballet Dancer in third place ).
The Single Ballet Dancer was her first chart success in Germany. In 2003, the German Band Master Blaster landed with a cover version of the song in the Top 50
Other well-known title of the group were Love system Love in the Dark and Tonight.
