The Ultimate (roller coaster)

The Ultimate in Lightwater Valley ( Ripon, North Yorkshire, UK) is a steel roller coaster, which opened on 17 July 1991. She is currently the longest rollercoaster in Europe and the second longest in the world behind Steel Dragon 2000. Until 2001, she stood as the longest steel roller coaster in the world in the Guinness Book of World Records.

The approximately 2268 m long route, which covers an area of ​​178,000 m², has two lift hills, one of which has a height of 31 m and the second a height of 33 m achieved. The supports of the two lift hills, although this is a steel roller coaster made ​​of wood. Apart from the two lift hills, the route runs very close to the ground and uses the slightly hilly terrain from. The Ultimate has two trains, each with ten cars. In each car four people can (two rows of two people) take place. The first car of each train has only one row. Passengers must be at least 1.32 m tall to ride allowed. The riders are secured by lap bar and a lap belt.
