The Unarchiver

The Unarchiver is a collection of free software for decompressing compressed data and archive files, a series of over 30 file formats. It also works as a frontend to libxad, which it supports numerous other older formats. It is written in Objective-C and Cocoa used for the graphical user interface. It supports more formats than the competing Archive Utility (formerly known as BOMArchiveHelper ), unpack the provided software in Mac OS X. It can also handle file names with characters from non-English character sets. The current version required to operate Mac OS X version 10.3.9 or later, or Linux using the GNUstep libraries. As the first independent software The Unarchiver supports RAR archives on the version 3 of the RAR format. The Unarchiver is distributed as free software distributed under the terms of version 2.1 or later of the GNU Lesser General Public License ( LGPL). Since version 2.7 it can also be purchased through Apple's App Store.
