The Warriors (video game)
The Warriors is a system developed by Rockstar Toronto video game, which was released in October 2005 for PlayStation 2 and Xbox. The PlayStation Portable implementation was released in February 2007. It is based on the American film The Warriors of 1979.
In Germany the game was never released because the USK expressed concerns to be able to give the game a marking. Because Rockstar Games did not want to specially cut the game, it was decided the game, despite hydrolysis with PR and advertising expenses, not to publish in Germany. In Austria and Switzerland, however, the game is available.
The game is considered by experts as one of the best movie tie-ins at all.
Action
As in the film is about the gang The Warriors, which is falsely accused the leader of the Riffs, Cyrus, to have killed at a meeting of all the New York gangs. The Warriors are now being hunted across all passage through the city. But that only takes up the last third of the plot of the game. Before that, the player takes in each of the 23 main missions, the control of each one of the nine different characters. The player has to do either with a large group or just the two tasks in the different transition areas. For example, protection money from shopkeepers demand, freeing captured Warriors, spray graffiti on rival gangs with their own tags, or kill leaders of other gangs. The locations of the individual missions are very varied, as each territory of miscellaneous gear looks different.
The gameplay on the mission set up very clear and the player can perform a task in different ways: simply run across the main road to get to their destination, but which enemy gangs or the police can pay attention to a. Sneak hidden through backyards and on rooftops around the city: Or as an alternative. All missions can be done alone or with a second player. The screen is divided in two player mode ( split screen).
