A wedding and other curiosities is a Polish film from the year 2004.

Action

Wieslaw Wojnar is a nouveau riche businessman in a village in the Polish province. His daughter married Kaśka Janusz. The bride's father wants to organize a wedding, which shows the entire village and his family 's importance and wealth. A large hall is rented and as a gift for the young couple Wojnar has brought in a brand new Audi TT from Germany. The car will be delivered by the brother of the priest. As consideration for the car this brother to get a piece of land that is still in the possession of the grandfather. The grandfather is not willing to sign the certificate of the notary. During the wedding ceremony the notary and Wojnar are trying to get the signature of the old man. As the grandfather eventually dies on the toilet, the task is impossible. The orchestra plays not as Wojnar it's expected to. Without early payment they do not touch their instruments. One further thorn in the eye of the bride's father is the cameraman, who is to document the great feast. It is Mateusz, the former mistress of Kaśka. As it turns out, that the brother of the priest is a gangster who has the Audi stolen in Germany and Janusz has sights more on the sports car when kaskas heart, leaves the bride together with Mateusz their own wedding, not before the car to go to waste. Finally Wojnar is also caught by his wife Eluska with another woman. Eluska leaves her husband, as well as the guests of the wedding party left the scene in the early morning.

The film won the Polish Film Festival Gdynia 2004 Critics' Prize and a Special Jury Prize. Protagonist Marian Dziędziel Award for Best Actor. At the International Film Festival in Warsaw, the screenplay was awarded in 2004. The movie was released in 2004 also in competition at the International Film Festival of Locarno. He received an honorable mention of the Youth Jury. 2005, the film was six-time winner at the award ceremony of the Polish Film Awards, including Best Picture film.
