Action

Which operates in New York City Kat Ellis travels to London for the wedding of her younger sister, Amy, on which she serves as a bridesmaid. She learns that the best man is her former fiance Jeffrey. Ellis committed the Callboy Nick Mercer, from which she learns from an article in the New York Times. Mercer is to pretend to be her friend and make her ex-boyfriend jealous.

Ellis asks her mother to a separate room for them and Mercer, but what the older woman rejects with the remark that she was " not stuffy ". Ellis and Mercer get closer. It turns out that Jeffrey with this Kat cheated with Amy during the relationship. Ellis resents Mercer that he used to when she learned of her but said nothing. Mercer makes the agreed fee back and leaves the house, but later he comes back. Kat's father makes her realize that she loves Mercer, and persuaded her " to bring him back ."

Amy confesses the affair her fiance Edward Fletcher- Wooten, who forgives her and they married. Ellis and Mercer are together at the end; Mercer gives up his business.

Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun - Times on 4 February 2005, in the film appealing two representations would be a " bombardment of crap " survive ("... presents the curious case of two appealing performances surviving a bombardment of schlock "). He may show " the usual selection of impossible relatives and wedding activities "; some scenes would look as if they were arranged for the British gossip magazine The Tatler. The history clubs motifs from the films Four Weddings and a Funeral, Pretty Woman and The Wedding of my best friend. Except for " stupidity" bein think the film has a melancholic undertone.

Background

The film was shot in London City, in Chilworth Manor ( Guildford, Surrey ) and in New York. His cost of production was estimated at 15 million U.S. dollars. The world premiere took place on 16 May 2004 at the Cannes Film Market instead. On 4 February 2005, the wide release began in the cinema of the United States, where the film grossed around 31.6 million U.S. dollars. In Germany it was published on 20 February 2006 on DVD.
