The Whiffenpoofs

The Whiffenpoofs (in short " whiffs " ) are regarded as the oldest men's vocal ensemble in the USA. In 1909, this a cappella choir founded at Yale University. The group initially consisted of 14 singers and became known for their harmonious sound. During his studies at Yale, Cole Porter in 1913 was its member. In his honor, the still existing group some Cole Porter songs in their repertoire.

Today, the group is simply called the Yale Whiffenpoofs.
