The Wild Wild West (Original Title: Wild Wild West ) is an American television series from the 1960s, which mixes science fiction and spy thriller elements with the Western genre.
Action
Events take place in the second half of the 19th century in the USA from. Daredevil James West and Artemus Gordon inventors are undercover agents of the Secret Service, the all over the country do special orders on behalf of President Grant. Here they can draw on an inexhaustible repertoire of weapons, equipment and panels, which they keep in a special wagon train her.
With this train West and Gordon travel across the country to the respective locales and experience their adventures there, which have to do with attractive women, bizarre inventions and to be controlled villains. This exotic mix makes up the special appeal of the series.

Remake
Directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, a Kinoremake the series was established in 1999 under the title " Wild Wild West " was filmed. In the strip act Will Smith as James West and Artemus Gordon as with Kevin Kline. In addition to Salma Hayek in the female lead role Kenneth Branagh mimes the opponent. The film was a failure in spite of high production costs and acceptable action and was awarded the Golden Raspberry. Robert Conrad, the James West of the series, a cameo was offered, but he refused with regard to the poor screenplay.
