The Wilde Flowers

The Wilde Flowers ( 1963-67 ) were an English rock band from the area of Canterbury, her name is an allusion to the writer Oscar Wilde.

The band has released no recordings during its existence, but from her were two well-known and influential progressive rock bands of the Canterbury scene out: Soft Machine and Caravan.

Members were in the course of the existence of Wild Flowers

  • The later Soft Machine - musician Brian Hopper ( guitar, saxophone )
  • Hugh Hopper ( bass),
  • Robert Wyatt (drums, vocals),
  • Kevin Ayers (vocals, bass with Soft Machine also )

And Graham Flight ( vocals), who played as a bass player in the late 70s with Dave Sinclair in the live band Polite Force.

A CD of previously unreleased recordings of Wild Flowers appeared in 1994.
