The Writing 's on the Wall is the second studio album by American R & B girl group Destiny 's Child. It was released in July 1999 with her record label Columbia Records.
History
The album, the last in the original line -up, was, inter alia, produced by Missy Elliott, Kevin Briggs, Rodney Jerkins, and Beyoncé. Missy Elliott also had a guest appearance as the R & B trio Next. For the first time the group took something creative participation, where she worked closely with the producers. Bills, Bills, Bills and Bug a Boo were among the pieces that the group wrote and produced.
From The Writing 's on The Wall five singles were released, of which Bills, Bills, Bills, Say My Name, Jumpin ', Jumpin ' Bug a Boo and became number-one hits.
Success and Awards
The album debuted at number six on the Billboard 200 album charts. For The Writing 's on the Wall Destiny 's Child were nominated for six Grammy Awards, including the categories " Best R & B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals " (twice), " Best R & B Song" ( twice) and " Record of the Year " and " song of the Year ". The album reached on November 6, 2001 octuple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America ( RIAA ). It has sold over twelve million copies.
