Theater Tiefrot

The theater Deep Red is a private chamber theater in Cologne. It was opened in 2002, is the founder of the actor and director Volker Lippmann, who since 2006 shares the theater management with writer and director Günter Overmann.

Establishment and location

The theater was located on 12 April 2002 with Bertolt Brecht's play Baal Premiere and is a former journeyman Kolping home from 1905 under a hotel in Cologne Dagobertstraße. The deep red is variable for seating and has up to 80 seats.

Repertoire

The theater Tiefrot has made with pieces as The Artificial Silk Girl by Irmgard Keun Molière or brother of Gerold Theobald for many years in Cologne's fringe theater scene a name. The theater defines itself as " a socially engaged literary theater " and also plays political pieces like The Wave, a piece after an experiment by Ron Jones on fascism, adapted from Reinhold kick.
