Thelon River

The Thelon River is a 900 km long river in northern Canada.

The river rises in the Northwest Territories, flows eastwards through Nunavut and ends in the Baker Lake, which drains into the Chesterfield Inlet and into Hudson Bay later.

It flows gently descending through the northern Canadian tundra. The flow sections are repeatedly interrupted by large Seeabschnitte.

Flora and Fauna

The river flows through a plant- poor tundra. Common mammals on the river are musk ox, moose and the North American caribou.
