Theo Breuer (footballer)

Theo Breuer ( born March 15, 1909 in Dusseldorf, † December 8, 1980 ) was a German national football team.

Breuer began at age 16, to play football. A school friend had taken him to training at Fortuna Dusseldorf. Less than two years later he was already as a center forward for stem formation. However, he had his big break when he was used in a match against FC Schalke 04 as a left runners and Fritz Szepan ausschaltete. This was then on his position. In 1933 he was then, since 1930, captain of the team, one of the guarantors for the victory of Fortuna in the German Championship.

In the same year he came on October 21, 1933 his international debut. Together with the other Dusseldorfers Paul Janes and Jacob Bender, he was the runner series against Belgium. For a chance of winning team, there was a 8-1 victory. Two weeks later, he graduated from the 2-2 draw against Norway his second international match. However, this should be his last international game since a knee injury stopped him.

1938 Breuer finished his career at Fortuna. From then on he worked as a coach among others Tura Hennef, Borussia Velbert or Union Krefeld. From January 1949 until end of the season he was caretaker manager at Fortuna Dusseldorf. In 1956 he returned to Fortuna Dusseldorf. Here he was an assistant coach and jumped from January 20 1960 to June 30, 1960 briefly as an interim coach. In 1962 he gave up his office. In 1967 he was elected to the board. The honorary member of the Fortuna died in 1980 of a heart attack.
