Theo Parrish

Theo Parrish (born 1972 in Washington, DC) is an American techno and house producer and DJ.

Life

The Washington D.C. Parrish was born and grew up in Chicago. As musical influences he cites the music of Miles Davis, Stevie Wonder, Jimi Hendrix, Nina Simone, George Gershwin and Bob Marley. The popular since the mid 1980s Chicago house style encouraged him in 1986 to the first own productions and working as a DJ. At the University of Kansas City, he studied art. In his thesis he worked on sound sculptures.

After moving to Michigan in 1994 was on a job in a record distribution close contacts with the Detroit techno scene. His first single, then appeared the following year on the Kenny Dixon Jr. KDJ label. This was followed by releases on Peacefrog Records, Ubiquity Records and his own imprint Sound Signature. Together with Kenny Dixon Jr., Rick Wilhite and Marcellus Pittman, he published in 2004 under the project name 3 Chairs the album " Three Chairs 3". Attention was published in 2005 the Carl Craig remix of his track " Falling Up ", which is considered one of the club hits of the year and was represented in numerous DJ charts.

He is also head of the sixteen -member musicians collective The Rotating Assembly.
